How long does a gas line installation take?

What's the difference between black iron and CSST?
Black iron pipe is rigid steel, the traditional choice, and still ideal for main runs and exposed locations. CSST is corrugated stainless steel tubing — flexible, faster to route through finished walls and joists, and it requires proper bonding to the home's grounding system. We choose based on the route, not on what's quicker for us.
Do I need a permit for a gas line?
Yes, for new lines, extensions, and most relocations. We pull it as part of the job and meet the inspector ourselves, so you don't need to coordinate anything.
How often should gas lines be inspected?
Have a licensed plumber inspect your gas piping every few years, and always before or after a major remodel, when buying a home, or if any appliance starts behaving strangely. Older black iron approaching 40+ years deserves a closer look regardless of symptoms.
